Personally I wouldn't bother going down that road unless I was a track rider with a good understanding of my bike, or with an experienced engineer to help me. What is it that you hope to improve about your bike, subjectively or objectively? And will you be able to measure it after it's been remapped? The harder part is understanding the ECU and the data, and how that actually translates into the way the bike feels, or measurably performs. My point is that flashing the ECU isn't really the hard part. For example, what does "good for power" mean? Does that mean that the bike makes a larger peak horsepower at high RPM (which seems to be what many people focus on), but that the total area under the power curve is reduced because the power band is "narrower"?Īnd when people talk about "better throttle response", that may be because fuelling is sometimes set deliberately lean, possibly for reasons of fuel economy and/or reducing emissions, at idle. My understanding is that everything is typically a trade off. I don't think that you often get something for nothing. All youll really be able to tell anyways is increased smoothness, no way youll be able to feel a few extra HP. We use Woolich and Rexxer equipment to carry out the reprogramming of the ECU’s on most makes and models. Reprogramming ECU’s on fuel injected motorcycles has become popular as riders strive to get the best out of their motorcycles. Yeah, it jets mapped but every bike is different, even with the same mods. The latest in ECU reflashing technology is available at BCperformance. "However, I have read that flashing the ECU is a good idea for both power and fuel economy." Get it done on a s kind of a waste to send in the ECU. ![]() Join us on Discord!
